Brain Health Coaching

Brain Health Coaching- Coming Winter 2017!

Coming Winter 2017 the Center 4 Brain Health will offer Brain Health Coaching sessions.

By focusing on maintaining cognition for wellness, the brain health coaching sessions aim to help individuals change their brains and change their lives.

The purpose of our brain health coaching sessions is to offer an alternative to more clinical assessments by identifying individuals’ areas for improvement to support a brain healthy lifestyle.

Brain Health Coaching sessions utilize a variety of tools to help participants understand modifiable lifestyle factors that can be addressed to support their personal brain health and wellness journey.

Individuals will be able to better understand their current cognition and brain health and how our programs can support their individual needs and brain health goals.

After all, “When your brain works right, you work right.”- Dr. Daniel Amen, M.D.

FREE Memory Screenings

Alzheimer's Foundation of America National Memory Screening ProgramOur Center is registered as a Community Awareness-Raising and Education Site (C.A.R.E.S.) with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

The purpose of community memory screenings is to offer FREE memory screenings to individuals that are concerned about their memory or cognition.

Aspects of mild memory changes or forgetfulness are normal aspects of aging but when changes in memory or forgetfulness impact an individual’s daily routine more serious health issues might be present.

Memory screenings are NOT used to diagnose memory impairments but they are an initial step towards finding out if an individual would benefit from further medical tests.

Screenings are also appropriate for individuals who want to see how their memory currently is and to gain a baseline measurement of their performance.

Would you benefit from a memory screening?

The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America recommends that individuals who respond “yes” to any of the following questions could benefit from a memory screening:

  • Am I becoming more forgetful?
  • Do I have trouble concentrating?
  • Do I have difficulty performing familiar tasks?
  • Do I have trouble recalling words or names in conversation?
  • Do I sometimes forget where I am or where I am going?
  • Have family or friends told me that I am repeating questions or saying the same thing over and over again?
  • Am I misplacing things more often?
  • Have I become lost when walking or driving?
  • Have my family or friends noticed changes in my mood, behavior, personality, or desire to do things?

Anyone with concerns about their memory can utilize the services of our memory-screening center throughout the year. We offer memory screenings on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 10:00 A.M. – 2:oo P.M.
